We have a long drive day.... about 3 hours! Does not take long to cover some serious ground here.
To get up to the main road George had to do the backout and reverse up the narrow roadway, then forward up the steep hill onto a busy road!
We had to head the opposite direction as there was no way to make the turn, but that gave us some different viewpoints of Dubrovnik.
Finally found a turnaround and headed in the right direction. Quick stop for a view of Cruise ship Alley...
Love this bridge! It was started in 2018 and completed by a Chinese Company in 2021...if this was not here you would have to enter Bosnia or take a ferry.
More of the terraced walls for growing... what a painstakingly long process..
In the agricultural area of Komin we stopped at one of the many fruit, olive oil and preserves stands along the way! Was craving fresh fruit!
Up onto the A1 toll road again, quickest way to get around and as we had already driven the seaside, this made sense.
Off the toll road ($8.50 euro) and down to the sea again to Trogir.
There is some major road construction so our host was going to meet us to bring us in to our place...but as construction is on Croatian time....it's taking much longer....
The GPS has struggles in places so we were in the wrong area. Lucky for "Whats App" we were able to connect. He told us he's on his bike and he's 2 meters tall! We did find him... and he's tall. We followed him to a grocery parking lot where he called his wife and she picked us up and our luggage and transported us to our place. We will go back later for the car...
Love the place... you enter Old Town Trogir, go towards the Museum on cobblestone streets, pass the best coffee place ( apart from his mothers)....go past that and we are in a 1000 year old building. His mother lives downstairs and will make us coffee anytime... and then we saw our place for 3 nights!!! The walls are original stone walls... I was really looking forward to this experience!!
And the little table is ours to use! So cute.
The Old Town is pretty small but is surrounded by the sea so there is lots to see here.
There is a big football game on tonight, Croatia vs Albania... the game was playing everywhere so we decided to join in.
Ended in a tie game so time to go eat.
Found a burger place not far that had good reviews so decided to give it a try! Good food!
Then we had to go get our car from where we left it this afternoon. The Hosts daughter met us and the little 9 year old girl walked us to where her dad was, he picked us up and drove us back to our car!
Small grocery stop and wow, you can pick up your condoms with your gum and chocolates...
Seemed like a long day, but it really was not. Chilling with a glass of vino watching TV that we cannot understand a word of...like background noise.
Cheers
