June 18- Lazy day in Dubrovnik

Super comfy bed, super quiet here, slept in pretty late today...chillaxed and did not walk to Old Town until almost noon.

It's such a great view to sit and have coffee in the morning...

It's pretty warm, about 30 degrees but it seemed much warmer. Maybe it's all the stairs!

There is a narrow roadway only a short distance and then it's just a walkway...these poor guys are working on a swimming pool... they wheel the cement down in wheelbarrows and then throw it over the wall and then push the wheelbarrow back up for more..love my desk job!

This was one of my favourite outdoor seating areas...

Close to the Old Town there are small rocky beach areas.

We always check out the nice hotels.... and they have the best free toilets! most places here do not charge but the City Bathrooms do charge 1 euro.

First time we have ever seen this floor number displayed!

Did some shopping, wandering...enjoying the sites!

Not sure what these giant marshmallow candies are about...

Stopped for a beer and a rest...

And who walked by but our neighbour's from the Podstrana hotel...who we randomly saw getting on the ferry from Korchula yesterday and now again...crazy odds! They are so nice. The little mom said in her broken English that "it was god who did it" ..so adorable!

Checked out a bunch of restaurant menus and decided upon the pizza place from last night.

Our waiter tonight was so happy, friendly and entertaining! Love this guy! We have found the people in general that we come across in the service industry...are aloof.... not rude or anything, but just mah....we will get to you sometime...

And a complimentary cheesecake!

We saw this cat yesterday and the whole time at the restaurant he got so many scratches and pets and pictures taken...

Cats happen to be considered Dubrovnik’s oldest citizens. The cats we see within the City Walls are numerous and direct descendants of the felines brought in the 13th century to help to fight the plague. Cats would hunt the rats, responsible for carrying the disease. I knew there was a reason I Love them!

I also love to watch the cars maneuver up the small street in front of our place. It's a zig zag road, so depending on where they start from,  they go forward for one zig... then in reverse for the zag... and so on and so forth until they make it to their parking space and then they masterfully park it in the craziest garage or spot....I have respect for these guys!

Cheers from Dubrovnik!
