June 17 - Korcula to Dubrovnik

Enjoyed a leisurely morning, champagne & orange juice to toast to a great 4 days!

Kim & Kath off for the better part of the week elsewhere and we are heading to Dubrovnik for 2 nights.

Little bit of recycling....

On to the ferry where we ran into these 2 sisters and a mom from New York again. They were our neighbour's in Podstrana and oddly enough they catch the same boat from Korcula! Weird

Said good bye to Kim & Kath until we meet again in Penticton! It was a great 4 nights touring the island with them!

We only had less than a 3 hour drive today! A few stops along the way...

Lots of tunnels here in Croatia and super hilly! All the highways and main roads are great!

Stopped for a quick lunch along the way.

The location of our place in Dubrovnik is great! Super nice host, bit of a crazy driveway to the parking but George is a pro and to be honest we were lucky to be so close with parking for the car.

We are overlooking Old Town Dubrovnik and the wall, about a 10 minute walk down the hill... and about 20 minutes back up, it's pretty steep!

Unpacked and decided to walk down to Old Town!

The town itself is on a steep hill and the Old Town is hilly with lots of steep stairs.
Getting a workout here for sure!

The walls of Dubrovnik were the main areas in Croatia for the filming of Game of Thrones, Kings

Oh look...another cat! Thay are all so relaxed...

So many restaurants it's almost overwhelming to decide, but we did find a really good pizza place!

We decided to do the Walls of Dubrovnik in the afternoon when it was not as hot. It was not actually too busy so we were lucky. A bit pricey at 35 euro each but a must do. Built in the 13th to 17th Century.

Cliff jumpers from the walls into the sea...not a chance..

Lots of great views from the wall.

But the best view of all....there are 4 or 5 places on the top of the wall for this!!

Then back down into the main square area....

Fresh tuna in a cool fridge display at a sushi place. Like a piece of art!

Finished up with some yummy Gelato for the long walk back!

And on our way back we saw the tightest parking spot ever!!!! I can not imagine how long it took them to get that car in!!!!  ".honey....I know you just got back from the store but I forget bread..."!!!

Cheers from Dubrovnik!
