The water is so blue everywhere. It's a refreshing temperature.
And while on the beach, we saw this gentleman put on his swim goggles, stretch and then swim effortlessly in this beautiful blue water and then out of sight...we thought nothing of it until quite some time later we see him reappear. Shocked at the length of time he was gone I asked him how far he swam? And in perfect English he gave us a little bit of his story, and the story of the beach development we were staying at... and before you knew it, David invited us up to his place in the afternoon for some wine and snacks and stories.
I love the macrame umbrellas...right dish to the pattern on our skin!
But these are my favourite!!!
So back we went to shower and up to David's place. He is retired from Bombardier, where he was the head lawyer in their legal division. Oddly, he did not sound like a lawyer, neither his voice, nor his way of speaking nor his mannerisms...
He was originally from Canada, still has some connections there, but now lives between here and Krakow, Poland. His place was decorated with amazing artwork, artwork he had a local artist create all for him from one of the paintings he fell in love with. Each piece of sculpture, each painting, even each bottle of wine on display, looked like it held a story. He shared some of his personal stories on work, children and relationships.
And after all that, no picture of David today, but this is his professional picture...today he is more relaxed , has an island vibe look and a warm island smile!
He pulled out a map of the Island and showed us the must see places, the don't miss eateries and wineries. Such a nice man with a calming, rhythmic voice that just fit in with this island life. We had a lovely evening ....all started by asking him how far he swam in the sea....
About another 2 minute walk from the beach for dinner! Our goal was to lounge today and not commit to much, and we did a darn good job of it!
And the Lucy update! She is settling in nicely....I know she loves being there, and having Gracie to play with....hope she will want to come home with us.
