And just outside our place an RV!!
Today we decided to do the "hop-on-hop-off" bus.
Is this a combination of languages or what?
Started out as a really good idea until we found out one of the main areas we were to access was closed due to a Political Rally for the Sunday Election ...so it stopped about a 35 minute walk from our destination and we had to figure out how to get there by foot...we made it, hungry and thirsty but got to see some different neighborhoods.
This little one had the right idea!
Found a place to Re-fuel and then came across the most amazing Kids bike area! Why have we never ever seen a place like this??? Miniature version of real life. Roads, lights, airplane drop-off, etc
And like many public places in Budapest you may need to pay to use the "toilet " or "WC" (water closet) ...unless you are a child...or..... you can fit through the "child cutout".. ... just saying....but to be honest I have no problem with paying a reasonable amount to use the WC if it ensures that they keep these accessible.. it's a great concept and hope other places adopt this method!
Then we saw the mass crowds heading into the Rally..it was crazy the thousands and thousands of men, women and children that came out to support one of the new politicians! We have never seen that before at home!
But our reason for being up here was to enjoy Szechenyi Thermal Baths and we made it!
Then we met these 2 young 21 year old guys from London who flew out for the weekend.... they heard George say something to me ( in English of course) and so it began!
We chatted for over an hour about ourselves, our lives, about our plans and dreams and shared with each other ideas on life...... they were 21... both of us 40-50 years older.... and yet...we got each other! Benjamin and Thomas, meeting people like them makes this memorable.
We forced ourselves to leave..... then fought our way back through the Political crowds, had dinner and they headed out to the "Szimpla Kert Ruin Bar" that Kim & Kath had recommended....wow...I don't think we will ever in our lives come across a place like this.!
There are dozens of bars and maybe 40 or 50 rooms to party in...
Ruin bars are makeshift bars inside dilapidated pre-war buildings, many in the Jewish Quarter, furnished with clearance sales furniture.
