June 4-5 - the day finally came...

Started the day by taking Lucy to her vacation home. It was really hard to think of leaving her with someone else for almost a month. A few times in the last month I have questioned our decision to do this big trip! Amongst the many fears I have, the most emotional is leaving Lu.

Her holiday mom greeted her with open arms and Gracie was happy to see Lucy again.

Before we knew it we got our first update that she was happily settling in. Yay

Then it all got real. Bags packed, lists checked again and again, and our trusty chauffeur Jim arrived at the door ready to drive us to the airport.

First flight, Kelowna to Calgary...smooth sailing,  no hiccups.

Then Calgary to Frankfurt, almost a 10 hour flight. Ug. It was tough. Food was mah...filled the void. I found the endless sitting in one cramped spot....challenging...

One more short flight from Frankfurt to Budapest...Georgie finally back to the homeland almost 69 years later...

Love our place while in Budapest!!

And cold ones in the fridge....awe... now for a walk about, we are only a 3 minute walk down to this amazing view!

Across the Chain Bridge was an amazing hotel. Oddly though there was no large intrusive sigh stating the name of the hotel... you had to search and search and we found about a 2 foot by 4 foot tiny name plate on the front. And when we now look at the cityscape....there are no large signs ruining the visual charm of this beautiful city. Oh Budapest 💗

And finished off with Dinner with Kim & Kath just down the street... and finished off with a bottle of Vino from the "Coka Cola store" (small grocer selling cold beer, wine, baked goods and snacks)
We now know why everyone who we have talked to about our visit to Budapest... they all said "You are going to LOVE it there". !! And we do already love it here!...❤️
Georgie finally made it to Budapest!!!!!...I knew I would make it happen for him oneday, I just knew it!!
